From the beginning of this all-volunteer patrol 65 years ago, there has been a strong bond especially for those who served for many years. Life long friendships, family ties, emergency medical education, and personal growth have stemmed from your commitment to this Patrol. As time moves along and you have retired from this activity, I am sure there are many pleasurable memories stored away.
What this active patrol has accomplished with the impressive Ski Patrol building, magnitude of the Ski Swap, keeping an all-volunteer system working for complete coverage of the mountain is an awesome accomplishment. But remember each and every one of you who had been active on this Patrol is also a part of this.
Starting with a few patrol alumni in our Prime Timer years, a Wednesday ski group started a few years ago. This is not limited to just alumni, but anyone 55 and older who loves to ski. It has grown to over 300 members and brought back the camaraderie and enjoyment of meeting friends on the mountain. This would probably not have happened if it were not for the Ski Patrol foundation.
I encourage all of you alumni to get involved, where ever your interest takes you. Remember you are always welcome in the Ski Patrol building, maybe just come in and say hello and tell a few tales like "remember when".
